The following product group of specialized non-foaming to low foaming water soluble corrosion inhibitors based on carboxylate and ester chemistry is for use in alkaline systems. All products are inherently biodegradable, non-phenolic, phosphate free, hard water stable and extremely effective at low concentrations. In some cases, these anionic corrosion inhibitors may also act as wetting agents and hydrotropes and are very cost effective.
A low foaming 100% active modified carboxylate for use in alkaline systems only. Extremely effective at low concentrations in both ferrous and non-ferrous applications. The final use solution should contain concentrations of 0.25-1.00% by weight, to prevent corrosion. Concentrations above 0.5% by weight may cause staining on cast iron without enhancing corrosion inhibition. The use of DeCORE IMT-100LF as a corrosion inhibitor is complemented by its lubricating, wetting and spreading properties.
As the name suggests, this product is an outstanding hydrotrope but is also considered our most effective corrosion inhibitor. This 100% active modified carboxylate exhibits a low quick breaking foam and is suggested for use in alkaline, water based systems. It is extremely effective at low concentrations and will not leave a solid or waxy residue on metal surfaces upon drying. The corrosion properties of DeTROPE CA-100 are synergized by its excellent wetting properties. It is recommended for use in alkaline systems only.
An 85% active borate ester which is almost colorless and is non-foaming. A corrosion inhibitor for ferrous and non-ferrous applications when used at a minimum concentration of 1% by weight. Suggested for use in aqueous alkaline systems where zero foam tolerance is required. For use in alkaline systems only. May cause staining when used in connection with aluminum. DeCORE BE-85 is specifically recommended as a corrosion inhibitor since it does not enhance any additional surface activity.
A very effective corrosion inhibitor for soft metals such as copper, brass, magnesium as well as aluminum, cast iron, steel and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals. This 95% active product is a non-foaming, modified carboxylate for use in neutral or alkaline, water based formulations. Suggested applications are synthetic cutting fluids, parts & metal cleaners, aerosol products, water-based paints and cooling tower additives. DeCORE APCI-95 is inherently biodegradabe, non-phenolic and does not contain nitrites or chromates.
Each one of the products are recommended for use as corrosion inhibitors and may be used in the following applications:

Figures 2, 3, and 4 indicate the results of submersion tests. The top half of the panels were submerged into a liquid made up of % by weight of corrosion inhibitor plus hard water containing (100 ppm as CaCO3and 71 ppm as CaCl2) at room temperature. The other half of the panel was exposed to the vapor phase in closed containers.
