DefOREST Enterprises Wetting Agents

A group of 100% nonionic surfactants based on unique and proprietary chemistry. These products are sold under our DeIONIC trade name and are considered outstanding wetting agents. The DeIONIC products may be used in many diverse applications for wetting and offer additional combined properties such as detergency, dispersing, defoaming, alkaline, acid and hard water stability, low VOC's and cost effectiveness. This group of surfactants are fluorocarbon and silicone free.

DeIONIC LF-60MOD

A low foaming surfactant that is very lipophilic having an HLB of 1.6. The use of DeIONIC LF-60MOD in various applications produces reduced water sensitivity. Although it has a cloud point of 14°C-18°C it may be hydrotroped into systems to help solubilize it at higher temperatures. At temperatures below and above its cloud point, DeIONIC LF-60MOD exhibits similar wetting properties. At a concentration of 0.1% by weight, a surface tension reduction of 28.5 dynes/cm and a Draves Wetting time of two (2) seconds may be achieved. (In water based systems, DeIONIC LF-60MOD has the ability to wet and disperse pigments producing good color development, rapid dry down, reduction of cratering and fish eyes resulting in good flow and leveling properties without the addition of excessive amounts of defoamers and flammable solvents). Suggested for use in Paints, Coatings, Inks and Adhesives.

DeIONIC 100-VLF

Similar properties to DeIONIC LF-60MOD but with reduced foam. Extremely lipophilic having a cloud point of less than 0°C and an HLB of 1.4. This unique surfactant has an average VOC of 13% and will exhibit dual functional properties as a wetting agent and defoamer. At concentrations of 0.1% - 1.0% by weight, surface tension reduction ranges from 24.5 dynes/cm - 27.5 dynes/cm with Draves Wetting times that are instantaneous. (It is recommended for use as a wetting and dispersing agent in: Paints and Coatings (wood, industrial, maintenance, traffic, architectural, railcar, marine and pigment grinding aids), Inks and Graphic Arts (flexo, roto-gravure, offset, screen print, overprint varnishes and pigment grinding aids), Adhesives (structural, contact, pressure sensitive, laminating and packaging).

DeIONIC LF-EP SERIES

A series of low foaming, nonionic surfactants having varying cloud points ranging from 15°C - 61°C, as represented by each designated number. These products have excellent stability in alkaline and acid systems including dry caustic and electrolytes. This series will not gel when added to water and are detergents and wetting agents when applied at temperatures near their cloud points. Optimum performance is typically achieved at 5°C below their cloud points. Used in low foaming alkaline and acid high pressure cleaners, mechanical dishwashing formulations, metal cleaning, bottle washing compounds, textile wetting and scouring, agriculture sprays and laundry detergents.
